New Operating Partner at DRS Investment

Munich, 15 March 2018 – Software investor DRS Investment GmbH is expanding its team to include Dr. Sven Abels as IT expert. As a software entrepreneur and founder of Ascora GmbH, Dr. Abels contributes his in-depth technical knowledge in the field of software development and his knowledge of the European IT landscape.

With this step, DRS Investment is expanding its own circle of partners and actively expanding the team around founder and Managing Partner Dr. Andreas Spiegel.

Dr. Abels is the founder and managing director of Ascora GmbH. He studied computer science at the University of Oldenburg where he obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma in Computer Science (Dipl.-Inform). He then earned his PhD in business informatics (Dr. rer. nat). Dr. Abels has received numerous awards such as the IndustrieAWARD 2007 and was honoured as Entrepreneur of the Year of the Region in 2014. In 2016, he received the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award 2016 on behalf of Ascora GmbH. Dr. Abels has supported numerous national and international companies as a consultant and was involved in numerous international projects. As Operating Partner in DRS, Dr. Abels will support the selection of the portfolio companies as well as the further strategic development.
